Angela N. Hutzenbuhler, MD
Dr. Hutzenbuhler earned a B.A. in Chemistry in 1985 and a medical degree in 1989 from the University of Kansas. She then left the Midwest and completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Duke University in 1992. More...
Dr. Hutzenbuhler moved west to attend the UCLA Integrated Program in Digestive Diseases where she successfully completed her fellowship in Gastroenterology in 1994. Being anxious to return to North Carolina after surviving two years in Los Angeles, she joined the GI division of Raleigh Medical Group in 1994.  She was a founding member of Digestive Healthcare in 2000.  She is a Fellow in the American College of Gastroenterology and enjoys attending their national meeting annually.  She has been fortunate to have her same, excellent nurse, Janet Mayer, for the last 15 years. 

Dr. Hutzenbuhler has been married for twenty-four years to her husband who is a CPA and local business owner.  She has a fifteen year old daughter and twelve year old son.  Needless to say, she is quite busy, but proud of her abilities to juggle many responsibilities.  The Hutzenbuhler’s “free-time” is mostly consumed managing children’s activities and sports.  They enjoy traveling, especially cruising and visiting National Parks.  They recently visited the Dakotas, completing a visit to all fifty states.  They are avid sports fans, especially fond of the Wolfpack and the Jayhawks.  They are very involved in their church, Good Shepherd Lutheran.  Dr. Hutzenbuhler also enjoys crossword puzzles, Sudoku, reading best-selling novels, and going to concerts. 

Janet Mayer, RN
Born and raised in NYC, Janet completed her Bachelors Degree in Education at a State University in New York. She was a safety education specialist for both the American Red Cross as well as a Pennsylvania State agency for a combined 16 years. More...
A change in career choice led Janet to Wake Tech CC where she completed her education to become a Registered Nurse.  Graduating with honors, she worked at Rex Hospital in the Neuroscience Unit for 2 ½ years before leaving to become a gastroenterology nurse in private practice with Dr. Hutzenbuhler.  Fifteen years later, she is proud and delighted to continue her association with Dr. Hutzenbuhler in this new venture.  Combining her education and experience she looks forward to continuing to provide care for many well established patients as well as new patients to the practice.  She considers herself a strong patient advocate and looks forward to being able to better meet the clinical needs of her patients. 

Janet’s daughter will be graduating from ECU Spring 2010 and hopes to begin a career teaching elementary education in the Wake County School System. 

Deeply involved in many committees as well as the religious school at Temple Beth Or, Janet also takes great pride in her community volunteer work.  Sailing and SCUBA diving are great hobbies.  Janet spends much of her free time traveling domestically and abroad.

Juanita V. Dunn
Juanita V. Dunn was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. She graduated from Cary High School. Juanita devoted her life to Christ and remains faithful, honest, and loyal. She is a mother of one and a grandmother of one. More...
Juanita has worked in the medical field since 1984. She started out being employed by various skilled nursing facilities as a Certified Nursing Assistant. After many years of working in nursing facilities, she was hired at Wake Medical Center, where she remained for 15 years. During her years there, she worked as a CNA and as a medical secretary. In 2002 she became employed by Raleigh Endoscopy Center, where she remained for 9 years. During those 9 years at Raleigh Endoscopy Center she worked as a CNA, a scheduler, and a receptionist. She also went back to school and earned her billing & coding certificate as well as becoming a notary. Although Juanita has moved on from working as a CNA full-time, her love and compassion for the elderly inspired her to get a part-time job at a local assisted living facility.
